1. Introduction and Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the services, facilities, website, booking systems, events, and related offerings provided by Northstar Quest Escape Rooms Ltd. (“Northstar Quest Escape Rooms Ltd.,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By making a booking, attending a game or event, using our website, or otherwise purchasing or receiving any of our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and all applicable laws in Canada, including applicable federal, provincial, and municipal requirements.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not book, enter, participate in, or use our services.
Where a booking is made on behalf of a group, the person making the booking represents and warrants that they have authority to bind all participants to these Terms, and each participant is deemed to have accepted these Terms by participating.
2. Scope of Services
Northstar Quest Escape Rooms Ltd. provides themed entertainment and related services, which may include:
- Themed escape room games
- Corporate team-building sessions
- Private group bookings
- Birthday and special event packages
- School and youth group experiences
- Custom puzzle design consultations
Our services may be offered on-site, by reservation, as part of a private event, or through other formats that we make available from time to time. Service availability, room themes, duration, capacity limits, age recommendations, and event details may vary and are subject to change at our discretion.
We reserve the right to refuse service, deny entry, or remove any participant for safety, security, conduct, or compliance reasons.
3. User Obligations and Responsibilities
By using our services, you agree that you and all participants in your booking will:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete booking and contact information;
- Follow all instructions, signage, safety rules, staff directions, and posted requirements;
- Arrive on time for your scheduled reservation;
- Use the premises, props, equipment, and facilities in a respectful and lawful manner;
- Not damage, tamper with, remove, or misuse any property, prop, lock, puzzle, camera, or equipment;
- Not bring weapons, illegal drugs, hazardous substances, or any prohibited items onto the premises;
- Not engage in abusive, disruptive, discriminatory, harassing, intoxicated, or unsafe behaviour;
- Comply with all age, supervision, and group-size requirements;
- Immediately disclose any relevant medical, accessibility, or safety concern that may affect participation;
- Respect other guests, staff, and neighbouring occupants of the premises.
You are responsible for the conduct of all persons included in your booking, including minors and guests you invite. Any loss or damage caused by you or your party may be charged to you to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Minors may only participate subject to applicable age restrictions and supervision requirements. If a minor is permitted to participate, a parent, guardian, or responsible adult must ensure compliance with these Terms.
4. Payment Terms and Conditions
All prices are listed in Canadian dollars unless otherwise stated. Applicable taxes, fees, and charges may apply and will be disclosed at the time of booking or purchase, where required by law.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
- Payment in full may be required at the time of booking;
- We accept the payment methods displayed on our booking platform or otherwise communicated by us;
- Bookings are not confirmed until payment is successfully processed, when applicable;
- Any deposit, administrative fee, or service fee is non-refundable unless required by law or expressly stated otherwise;
- You are responsible for ensuring that your payment information is valid and that sufficient funds are available;
- If a charge is reversed, disputed, or declined after services have been provided, you remain responsible for the amount due.
For corporate bookings, custom puzzle design consultations, private events, or other special arrangements, additional terms, invoices, minimum spends, deposit requirements, or contract terms may apply and will prevail to the extent of any inconsistency.
We reserve the right to correct pricing errors, reject any order or booking, and cancel bookings that appear fraudulent, mistaken, or improperly made, subject to applicable law.
5. Cancellation and Refund Policy
Cancellations, rescheduling requests, and refunds are subject to the policy communicated at the time of booking and any event-specific terms agreed in writing. If there is a conflict, the specific booking terms will apply.
Unless otherwise stated in your booking confirmation:
- Cancellations made within the permitted cancellation window may be eligible for a refund, credit, or rescheduling option;
- Late cancellations may result in forfeiture of all or part of the booking fee or deposit;
- No-shows are generally not eligible for refunds or credits;
- Refunds, when approved, will be issued to the original payment method where practicable;
- Processing times for refunds may vary depending on the payment provider;
- Special events, private bookings, school/youth group bookings, corporate sessions, and custom services may be non-refundable or subject to stricter cancellation terms;
- If we cancel or materially reschedule a booking due to our operational reasons, we may offer a refund, credit, or alternate date, as determined by us and subject to applicable law.
We are not responsible for cancellations caused by your group’s lateness, failure to meet requirements, or non-compliance with these Terms.
6. Liability Limitations
Participation in escape room and event activities involves inherent risks, including physical movement, confined spaces, strobe or sound effects, puzzle interaction, and interaction with props or environmental elements. By participating, you acknowledge and assume these risks to the fullest extent permitted by law.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Northstar Quest Escape Rooms Ltd., including its directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, and licensors, shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising out of or related to the use of our services.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from or related to the services shall not exceed the amount actually paid by you for the specific booking or service giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable Canadian law, including liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence, to the extent such exclusions are not permitted by law.
You agree that you are solely responsible for any loss, injury, illness, or damage resulting from your own conduct, failure to follow instructions, impairment, intoxication, or misuse of the premises or equipment.
7. Intellectual Property Rights
All content, materials, storylines, game designs, puzzles, clues, trademarks, logos, audio, visual effects, graphics, text, concepts, and other intellectual property used or displayed by Northstar Quest Escape Rooms Ltd. are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws in Canada and elsewhere.
You may not copy, record, reproduce, publish, distribute, modify, reverse engineer, publicly perform, commercially exploit, or create derivative works from any part of our intellectual property without our prior written consent.
Any feedback, suggestions, ideas, or recommendations you provide may be used by us without restriction or compensation, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
For custom puzzle design consultations, unless otherwise agreed in a signed written contract, all underlying intellectual property rights in our designs, templates, methods, and pre-existing materials remain the property of Northstar Quest Escape Rooms Ltd. Any client-specific deliverables will be governed by the applicable written agreement.
8. Data Protection and Privacy
We collect, use, disclose, and store personal information in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy laws, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and any applicable provincial privacy legislation.
Personal information may be collected for purposes including booking management, payment processing, customer communication, safety and incident management, service improvement, marketing where permitted by law, and legal or regulatory compliance.
By using our services, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information for these purposes.
We may share personal information with trusted service providers who assist in operating our business, such as payment processors, booking platforms, IT providers, and professional advisors, subject to appropriate confidentiality and security safeguards.
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Force Majeure
Northstar Quest Escape Rooms Ltd. shall not be liable for any delay, interruption, cancellation, rescheduling, or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Severe weather;
- Fire, flood, or natural disaster;
- Power outage or utility failure;
- Labour disputes or strikes;
- Pandemics, epidemics, public health orders, or quarantine measures;
- Government action, legal restriction, or regulatory change;
- Equipment failure not caused by our wilful misconduct;
- Supply chain interruptions;
- Acts of terrorism, civil unrest, or war;
- Any other event beyond our reasonable control.
In such circumstances, we may, at our discretion and subject to applicable law, reschedule the booking, offer a credit, or provide a refund in accordance with our operational capabilities and applicable booking terms.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update or revise these Terms at any time, in our sole discretion, to reflect changes in our services, operational practices, or applicable law.
The updated Terms will be effective when posted on our website or otherwise communicated to you, unless a later effective date is stated. Your continued use of our services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
If you do not agree to the revised Terms, your sole remedy is to stop using our services and, where applicable, cancel any future bookings in accordance with the cancellation policy.
11. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms, and any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to them, the services, or your use of our facilities, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
Subject to any mandatory consumer protection or other non-waivable laws, the courts located in Ontario, Canada shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any legal proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms or our services.

13. Severability Clause
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be severed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
